You Still My Soul.

Living in the outdoors most of my life has afforded me two major blessings. Namely the ability to enjoy the beautiful world God created, and a profound appreciation for the simplicity that life is waiting for you to see. I can truly understand that joy of looking out at beautiful landscapes and wildlife....watching Gods creation.
Taking deep fresh breaths of air sending chills down my spine, clearing my mind. Listening to the birds song and fly around as I take photos with my Canon Rebel T3i camera is close to perfect as it gets. Nowhere in a big city or huge crowd will you ever find such harmony. The strong rapids of the Robinson River in Madison County, Virginia and praising the Lord for such tranquil sounds to still my soul.
Sounds downright amazing right? It should and let me tell you something about peace. We all have yearning for peace and quiet in our lives, albeit many go about it in so many different wrong ways; palm reading, idols, money or what have you. All the above written attempts at finding peace and direction have all one thing in common....a dead end.
Ever since the fall of human kind.....we have one common desire for belonging. Those that aren't saved by the blood of Jesus Christ will never truly be able to attain that. But I must slow down and hit the brakes on this one.... because I can tell you of one amazing God that will truly love and still your soul.
I was a bit of a wild guy before I met my now wife and went to a true honest to goodness church. Although it is never going to be perfect....I know that once I stop breathing and go to be with the Lord....it will be incredible. It says in Romans 8:18;
The trials of today are not to be compared to the glory that will be revealed to us *
How refreshing is that? How encouraging is that one simple sentence....no matter what we face on this fallen world.... heaven's Glory is going to outshine and outperform anything on this huge planet.
God you still my soul.

Psalm 46:10
"Be still, and know that I am God"
