Wow, all I can say is what a weekend we had with storms and the wild Shenandoah Valley humidity. I was driving through the worst storm I've encountered while driving home the other day. It was completely dark, blinding hail and rain that turned into a complete driving disaster. It was then that I had to take a blind left turn in complete darkness to continue on home, with another few miles before it eased up enough to see. With very minor damage done, we still had our power.

Getting ready to leave the house with your camera gear and a full cup of coffee and a couple of destinations is it the best feeling. I truly enjoy the time and finally being able to refresh the mind, especially after being on the editing realm for several days. Once I get on the Shenandoah National Park in Greene County or off the Sperryville entrance, I instantly get into another whole state of mind. How often we see ourselves in a situation where split seconds are the difference between success and regret. I would say failure but that is just a temporary moment in time, not a permanent state of being. When it comes down to it, we have to really grind down the burs, blurry viewfinders, and focus on the beautiful photo or moment in front of you. So many times I have taken my camera looking for wildlife, only to be confronted with weather, crowds, or the once in a lifetime
