Bridges; Burn or Forgive?

We all know the gusto that many of the bridges we see in awe today were made with an unmatchable gusto. Designed from mistakes and deaths of their past, bridges have provided many challenges for mankind in his endeavors. They way to cross railroads, rivers, creeks, etc. The closest example that I have living in Virginia is the Chesapeake Bay Bridge system. With incredible views and lots of ship traffic, it is a huge landmark.

I for one love going over bridges and enjoying the views and looking for ships, looking at the Newport News shipyards, Norfolk Naval Base, and so on. They are a major development of humans endeavor with travel, since cars and humans can't breath under water. But what about the figurative sense of the bridges in our personal lives. That is what we will discuss on this Devotional Corner post.

We've all heard those saying about burning bridges, or I'm going to burn it and never look back, right? As tempting as it may seem to have that power trip, you gotta realize that all ya gotta do is walk away. Let that bridge burn, collapse, or even stay a bridge. It's the other people that need to realize that when you walk away, it's their loss more than yours.

The best bridges are built from each end and they meet in the middle. It's sad to say, but it is the same way in relationships, forgiveness, family issues ect. They are irreparable bridges, as I have experienced in my life. So many people burn them and realize they have nowhere to go all the sudden. Just realize that not all "bridges" are actual steel and concrete, but phone calls and tears, hurt and distance. It's then that they realize that you packed up the bridge. Then other times you just gotta pour that gas and watch it burn, for your precious mental health.

God sent Jesus Christ to be a bridge between us and God, so that we may have everlasting life and salvation. Before Jesus Christ came, taught us, was crucified and accended to heaven, we were sacrificing many things. Now that Jesus Christ has taken care of the gap, giving us a way to receive forgiveness, mercy and salvation. That's is the best bridge that was ever around.

It says in 2 Corinthians 5:18: "...who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation."
