A Stubborn Persistence

I'm well aware of many accomplishments in this country that could've gone off the rails permanently if the people behind them had given up. It doesn't matter who you are, or what you are up against, being stubborn can pay off if you are persistent enough. As I have been working on my photography skills, writing these blogs, editing photos, and building this website, there have been some obvious setbacks. It has most certainly been fraught with its fair share of difficulty, but having that stubborn persistence has paid off! As of 8:30pm last night, I was finally able to say that the website was completely finished being built.

Now with that being said, lets dive into the life of the Nicky Cruz, who was a violent, ruthless gang leader in New York City. Born in December6, 1938 in Las Piedras, Puerto Rico, he grew up in an abusive, neglectful household where his parents practiced witchcraft. Eventually he was sent to New York to live with his uncle in Brooklyn. It was after that time that he ran away and joined the infamous Mau Mau gang, eventually becoming the fearless, bloodthirsty warlord of the gang in the 1950's. It was then while in his late teens that he ran into the evangelist David Wilkerson, who he beat up and threatened to kill. After David Wilkerson told him that he could chop him up and try to hurt him, he would still say he loved him. As time goes on in Nicky's life, he found himself at a crossroads at one of David's revival meetings. It was then that he realized in the middle of his anger, grief and hatred for everyone, that he gave his life to God in 1958.

Now it is 1959 and he is studying at a Latin American college in California, almost married and starting this new life as a Christian. If it wasn't for the stubborn persistence of Jesus Christ, David Wilkerson wouldn't have experienced the saving blood of Him. And that goes for Nicky Cruz running into David Wilkerson and getting saved. I have read the book Run, Baby Run (I will drop the link below) and it was rough but good.
