Commitment And The Dam.

An understandably interesting title to a biblical devotional post I'll be completely honest, but I promise it gets better as you read. So we are going to talk about commitment and the various effects it has on our life. There are so many different things that we are committed to in our life.....wife, jobs, church.... hobbies that we deem as important.

But sometimes it can be either a river of blessings or a dam (either holding us back or filling up our lives) but it depends on how we look at it. On that being said we should mention the biggest commitment we should have in our lives. Jesus Christ is as dedicated and committed to you and I as we could ever imagine.

There is no quit or "give-up" in the Lord so why as a born again christian family....should we give up on worshipping and praying to Him.

Don't let your lack of faith be the dam that holds you or God's blessings from being what they can be.

I have learned over the years that even though I as a born again Christian that I am forgiven from my past....I will still face daily struggles. We will always have to decide how much effort we put in our faith and trust in The Father. Sometimes we have to dig deep, get on our knees and CRY out to the Lord.

It's not because He is so far away, but rather it is us emptying our soul and heart of pain and giving it to the Lord.

Think about Moses, Job, and the Israelites.....as well as others who have been in your shoes....no matter the size. As a young kid I used to believe that we had to tell God when He had time to talk to let me know. Now as a young man I realize how silly that was. God is always there for you and I no matter what. That is the incredibly powerful way that our God is. Giving your thorny walls and hurting heart to the Lord Jesus Christ and He will intercede and forgive you and heal you. Just wait for that emotional wave of emotions and weight lifted...I'm telling you.

Chronicles 29:11. Thine, O LORD, [is] the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all [that is] in the heaven and in the earth [is thine]; thine [is] the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.
